(Jason Russo) Hopewell was obsessed with anthems. We tried to keep it to two or three anthems per album, just because every song can't be the song when the credits roll at the end of the movie. None of us knew how to play in the beginning, let alone write or talk about music properly, so we would describe what we wanted cinematically. We'd say, "we want this to sound like a tank plowing through a building" or "we want this to sound like someone winning the big race in a movie about a marathon." Anthema was an early attempt at the latter.
